30-31 May 2020 Athol bay

Saturday 30/5: Arrived at the boat around 10. Slightly damp in the not, some water in the bilge but it has been raining a lot this past week. Coffee from the sandbar before we headed out.

Left the marina at 11.30 and motored west. Just before middle head we saw dolphins playing in the water. We slowed down and watched them. In total we saw 7. A few came up just close to the boat. An amazing experience.

We then set sails and sailed straight west out through the heads. Had a great days sailing and after 13.30 we turned back east and headed back in. Lovely day sailing. Saw some debris floating around from the lost containers last week but not as much as expected.

Anchored in Athol bay in time for the sunset. Niclas and Oliver rowed ashore to test the new drone and took some lovely films.

Dinner inside as it is now getting cooler and damper in the evenings. The moon is half full tonight.

Sunday 31/5: Last day of autumn. Breakfast I the morning sun before we set sails and headed back to Middle harbour and the marina. Good sailing up the harbour. Met by a pod of dolphins coming back in to middle harbour just after we took the sails down. A young, smaller one passed close to the boat.

Spent a few hours onboard fixing stuff and then had lunch onboard as the sun came out and made for a great afternoon.
