11 July: Sailing the Harbour

Saturday 11 July; The lockdown of Greater Sydney is still on but checking on the boat and sailing for exercise is allowed as long as you stay within 10 km from home.

As we had our standing rigg replaced in the past week, this was a great opportunity to take RaRa for a sail to check her out.

It was a rainy morning but by the time we got to the boat we had one final squall and then the sun came out. The waves on the harbour where wild after a week of heavy winds and foul weather. The waves where breaking on Middle Head and people surfed outside Balmoral. We had a lovely sail with 10-15 kn westerly winds and sailed south down the harbour. As we passed Chowder bay we saw storm clouds arriving in the South so decide to sail back.

Got back in to the marina and packed up the boat before it started to rain just as we got into the car to drive home.
