Cruising weekend 7-8 Nov

Saturday 7/11: We all went to RaRa in the morning, arrived at 09.30. Set off for a sail down the harbour at 10.20. The wind picked up as we got down to Chowder bay and we decided to head back to MHYC.

On the water with RaRa again

We met up with the Cruising division at the club for some man-over-board practice, starting with theory then out on the water to practice some moves before dinner. The southerly had picked up to gusting 32 knots so we all decided to head under the spot bridge for the 16.30 opening and into Sugarlof bay where we anchored for the night.

Practised heaving to on the way there without being successful then again on Sunday and this time we got it to work.

Dinner onboard Flo with our friends and we had a great evening before rowing back to the boat in the still of the night

Sunday 8/11: After a great and calm night we had breakfast in the cockpit as the sun was shining and the weather great. Some drone flying by Oliver and then we headed out again through the 11.30 bridge.

Heave-too, almost still in the water despite wind and waves

Practiced heaving to with success this time and then sailed out through the heads and back. Moored at Cobblers beach for lunch and then back to the marina for some boat work before we headed home.
