Saturday 27/6: Arrived in the marina after lunch and we left the berth at 2 pm. Motor out past Balmoral and then set sails. Sailed towards the heads but the waves where long and high…the swell reached Chinamans beach…We decided to not go out but turned down into the harbour instead.
Rounded shark island with some gusts at 15 knots and the boat did 6 knots. Quite grey and slightly chilly but a great day out.
Anchored outside Shore beach, just around for corner from Quarantine station. Less waves here then at the mooring near the station. Drinks in the cockpit before heading down below for dinner. Candles lit.
Fun fact today: Heard our first shark warning – they warned about a shark swimming around in Manly and Manly cove (we are anchored around the corner from there. We did see a seal before we came into anchorage.
