5 – 6 June sunrise and dolphins

Friday 5/6: Niclas spent the day on RaRa with various jobs and a few work meetings. Sanna and Oliver arrived after work and school as the sun set. We had drinks onboard Sanctum with our friends. Nice to be able to meet up again.

Dinner at the pizzeria next door, first time in a long time we could stay and have dinner served. Back in the boat we had a quiet time before going to bed early.

A very high tide at MHYC

Saturday 6/6: Swedish national day πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ

We left the marina at 05.00 to sail out on the ocean to watch the sun rise. It was 8 c outside and damp (15 c in the boat) but there always an amazing full moon still up. Outside middle head we set sails as there was a 10 knots westerly wind blowing. Amazing to sail out in the (almost) dark. The sea was quite wavy.

Leaving Sydney harbour

The horizon started getting pink and lighter just after 6 am, unfortunately there was a bank of clouds on the horizon. As we sailed around we had a pod of dolphins join us for over 30 mins, playing around in front of the boat.

Back towards the marina after sun rise at 6.53. All a little cold as we did not put enough warm clothes on. A lesson learned. Back at the marina we had breakfast at the sandbar and ate sitting on the beach in the sun.

Niclas then went out sailing with Wailea and Oliver and I rested on RaRa. The day turned warmer and lovely with sunshine so we stayed and had lunch on the boat before heading home.
