Friday 8 May: Niclas and Oliver arrived on the boat early morning, in time for Oliver to set up onboard for online school. It was a beautiful day with sunshine and 26c. RaRa was dry inside for the first time since we got her – our efforts have succeeded this far. Sanna arrived at the boat in time for lunch (took a half day off work). Lunch onboard in the marina and then Oliver finished the school day.
Left MHYC just past three and motored (there was very little wind) across the harbour to Quarantine beach. Found a free pinkie and stopped for a lovely afternoon swim from the boat.
The sun sets early and we had a nice sundowner and bbq before the sun set
Saturday: it took some time for the sun to hit the boat in the morning but breakfast in the cockpit when the sun arrived.
After breakfast we sailed off the mooring and headed south down the harbour with beautiful wind. Sailed under the harbour bridge and then under the Gladesville bridge before heading back to MHYC.
Lunch during sailing back which was a little challenging, especially when making coffee. We started using the aeropress coffee machine this morning with great taste and result, but not a thing that works with waves….need to make the coffee beforehand when the boat is more still. Ground coffee beans spread all over the kitchen top including the panel behind the kitchen top – at least it smells good…Was remover using a brush.
Returned to MHYC at 3 pm and spent a few more hours fixing things onboard. Niclas completed the new lights in the front cabin and Sanna continued to clean the dinghy.
