25-26 April – halyard And mast light

25/4 Saturday: We arrived on the boat at 10. The weather was amazing, blue sky, sunshine and 26 c. Niclas finished the splice of the rope – with much hard work and effort. We exchanged the headsail halyard with this new rope. Then Sanna was hoisted up the mast to put in the new lightbulb for the deck light (the tractor bulb we bought). First attempt the light did not work so we investigated the connections for the light, deciding this was a job for a professional. After a break for food we decided to give the light a new go and Sanna went back up the mast – with more tools and the voltmeter. There was power up there and turns out the colours on the wires where back to front from the wiring diagram from the boat. It then got fixed and is now working.

We stayed in the marina and had pizza for dinner, then a nice evening spent reading and star gazing. It was a great warm night.

26/4 Sunday: The morning was sunny and heated up quickly. Breakfast onboard with takeaway from Grumpys next door.

Another rope got exchanged, this time the headsail sheet and we hoisted the headsail back in position. Then time to head out for a sail. Sanna drove the boat out of the marina (successfully I might add) and we set sail straight away. Had a lovely sail eastward out through the heads. We started with a 7 knot NE and then it picked up to 17-20 knots.

We headed down towards Manly and then back home as there where some black clouds moving in. Lunch onboard in the marina and then a few more things to be fixed.

Back home for dinner.
