4-6 Jan 2020: On the water again

4 January : Saturday – after arriving at the boat we had lunch at the Sandbar before heading out sailing. Set sail outside Balmoral at around 12.30. Wind NE and gusting 25 with fairly big waves coming through the heads. Sailed east to go outside the heads but it was about too windy for the crew so we headed back into Middle harbour. Anchored outside Castle rock beach and had a swim. Lost hold and drifted slightly and decided to head under the spot bridge at 14.30. Headed into Sugarloaf bay and anchored. The NE made it a little windy but the water was beautiful and we all swam lots. Temperature reached over 40c in the afternoon.

Dinner and then we waited for the Southerly which hit at around 22.00. The wind calmed as we where totally protected from the S wind. Temperature dropped to mid twenties.

Sunday: a beautiful morning with around 30c. Breakfast onboard and then just relaxing on the boat in calm waters. Lunch onboard and then we headed out under the bridge at 14.30. Very windy in middle harbour. Stopped at MHYC t-arm for a few hours and then out to anchor outside Chinamans beach where we stayed the night. Windier and a cooler night. Lots of waves.

Monday: After morning swim and breakfast onboard we mirrors to MHYC and dropped Oliver off. He went to do FRc robotics at school. Niclas, Jessica and Sanna sailed out into the harbour. SE winds around 12-15 knots. A lovely day sailing down to the city. Turned around outside a Fort Denison and sailed back to MHYC.
